Wednesday's Ondoy Recap

Here's the latest barrage of news from various news sites:
Word on the 'net
There have been a lot of rumors, dated information, and questionable stories circulated on the internet concerning Ondoy and its effects. Please try to validate all information you get online -- something isn't necessarily true just because a lot of people post it.

Also, if something is wrong, try to correct the post in a comment. If we can help keep down the hysteria, we can focus our energies on more productive matters.

Tuesday's Ondoy News Recap

My primary sources for information are NOT television or radio (because I don't get those at work). I get my news from friend updates on Facebook and from the various local news websites.

Here's the latest barrage of news from various news sites:
Inquirer.net
Philstar.com
GMAnews.tv
In addition, there's an interesting article from the NY Times Blog "Lede" by Robert Mackey, showing examples of the videos and social media that were used to communicate what was happening to fellow Filipinos and world.

Some Google Help
Check out the Google Page for Typhoon Ondoy, which has a map of victims who need help, plus a spreadsheet to enter data.

Last but not least here's a piclink to an FB picture of the donor drop-off points courtesy of Ana Maria Gonzalez Marques.
